The band is so authentic and true to the spirit of Linda Ronstadt that Ms. Ronstadt’s own former guitarist, John Beland, will be appearing as their special guest at the Gallo Center concert. After working with Ms. Ronstadt, Beland went on to play and record with Rick Nelson, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson, the Bellamy Brothers, and as a member of the legendary Flying Burrito Brothers. He has also authored two books about his life as a touring and studio musician, the latest being “Pass the Guitar and I’ll Tell You a Story” (2022). The Gallo Center audience can count on hearing at least a few good stories about the author’s time touring with Linda Ronstadt.
Ronstadt Revue and Beland have performed together live in concert only a few times and excitement couldn’t be higher. “It’s been quite an honor to have such strong support for our show from Linda’s own band members, like Dan Dugmore, Herb Steiner, and John Beland,“ said vocalist Gesenia. “And performing together at the Gallo Center with John will definitely be a career highlight for me and the band.” For his part, Beland describes being taken aback by hearing Gesenia and her band perform. “Each time I listen to the Ronstadt Revue, I’m catapulted back to that stage I shared with Linda 50 years ago. Gesenia makes the hair on my arms stand up when she sings. This is more than just another tribute band. They are the real deal.”
You can come hear “the real deal”, along with John Beland, on Friday, March 24 at 7:30pm at the Gallo Center for the Arts, 1000 I Street, Modesto, CA. Further information and tickets are available at www.galloarts.org or by calling (209) 338-2100.
