Stanislaus Latino Chamber of Commerce January Newsletter

Hola SLCC Members, Supporters, Familia,

It’s hard to believe how quickly the past year flew by. 2024 was a remarkable year of growth and development for our chamber. We strengthened relationships with our members, launched impactful initiatives, and made meaningful strides toward advancing our mission to support and uplift our community. The dedication and collaboration of our members, staff, and board have been the driving force behind our success, and I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished together.

Looking ahead to 2025, I’m excited about the opportunities to take our work to the next level. We are poised to build on the momentum of this past year by enhancing member engagement, expanding our programs, and forging new partnerships that will empower our business community like never before. Together, we’ll continue to innovate, grow, and create a stronger, more vibrant future for everyone we serve.

Thank you for being an essential part of our journey and remember, we are «A Chamber for Everyone».

The EMC Health Foundation is dedicated to improving the well-being of community members in our geographic area by offering programs that address physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health. Notable initiatives include the $2 Prescription Program, which helps the uninsured and working individuals afford essential medications like insulin, and the Stuhmer Fellows Program, which supports students pursuing advanced degrees in mental health fields with a $50,000 scholarship. Both programs aim to enhance access to affordable healthcare and develop a skilled workforce to meet the region’s needs. For more information, visit our website at emchf.org.

Legacy Health Endowment (LHE) operates in the southern part of Stanislaus and the northern part of Merced Counties. We use charitable funds to build and fund healthcare solutions to serve all communities across these zip codes.

To ensure we use charitable dollars effectively, we have launched various programs targeting commercially insured families (employer-provided insurance) and the uninsured. This includes:

  • A free telehealth program for people 18 and older, https://www.helloalpha.com/sonja-cares
  • An accelerated nursing scholarship program helping local college graduates return for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree with a $50,000 scholarship towards tuition and books. Most of these students are bilingual.
  • We launched the first Master of Science in Nursing /Family Nurse Practitioner degree. More than 65 graduates, many of whom are bilingual, have graduated. The program is free for students willing to work in targeted communities.
  • Helping ensure that women can access needed medical care at no cost.
